Since 1995, P.E.C. has hosted thousands of visitors who have come on a year-round basis to “Experience Historic Eatonville.” These guests are the quintessential cultural heritage tourists who wish to enjoy Eatonville’s “Heritage, History, and Hurston.”

Established in 1990, The Hurston’s mission is to provide a place “in the heart of the community” where the public can view the work of artists of African ancestry, who live in the United States or throughout the Diaspora
For over three decades, The Hurston™️ has been privileged to present the work of distinguished visual artists, such as Wilie Birch, Lonnie Graham, Gwen Knight, Samella Lewis, William Pajaud, Faith Ringgold, Carrie Mae Weems, Deborah Willis, Betye Saar and the late, Elizabeth Catlett, Benny Andrews, John Biggers and Augusta Savage.
